General Overview
Here at the butcher shop, the words "deer season" bring mixed emotions with them, as we look forward to each season while realizing the crazy rush that it brings. We started in 2011 as a small family business processing only deer. That first season we processed a grand total of 444 deer. Each year, except 2021, we have grown from previous years until we now process quite a number each season.
You Get YOUR Meat!!
Our deer season meat policy is a "you get your meat" policy, with the exception of batched specialty meats. If you bring in a small, tender deer, then that is the meat you will receive. We keep all of our deer individually labeled through the entire process to make sure you take YOUR meat home.
Rifle Season
Rifle season is really where the rubber meets the road. With crazy amounts of whole deer coming in within 16 days, the rush of things gets pretty crazy. It holds a special place in our hearts since it's where we started, but no one complains when that last day comes. In fact, we possibly even celebrate a little.
Our Products
All boneless cuts is our standard with the exception of whole shoulders or hams. We offer the extremely popular option to add beef fat to the burger (approx. 13%). Another very popular product is our deer breakfast sausage, which we offer in hot and mild.
We vacuum seal all the cuts! All of the cuts are vacuum sealed and the burger is stuffed into chubs.
Pricing
Basic pricing on deer is based on the gender of the animal. This price gets you all of the roasts, steaks, and hamburger. Our snack sticks, summer sausage, and jerky are added items for which we charge by pound. Here is our current price list.
